If you truly want something, the universe will conspire in your favor. Sometimes people halt at the foot of the abyss and forgo their journeys for an easier route. The burning desire to fulfill their dreams will remain as memories of their youth. The road less traveled is not to fear; treading the unsoiled path makes a hero. Many of life's failures are those who gave up without realizing how close they were to success. Maybe the smartest thing to do is to take a leap of faith.

Walking away.

Good things don't happen to good people.
If that were true then none of us would be hurt.
I have been hurt. 
So has he. And she. And him. And her.
Pushed down and stepped on by the only one that mattered.
In my head.  
I was expended. Disposed. Shattered in pieces. 
It was never wholesome.
A salacious mistake. 

Why.
It happened to the best of us.
We blamed ourselves.
Perhaps we deserved this.
We don't care any more. 
The whispers and heresay
of malicious little girls
wasting the night away.
